These herbivores eat grass, leaves, and some other plants. They call the other animals if they see their enemies around. They have wide hooves and broad muscles. They are 4 feet tall. They have white tails, white behinds, white bellies, wide muzzles, and white feet with hooves. Bulls have large antlers. The caribou’s coat is thin and brown in the summer, thick and gray in the winter. Males have white manes. They migrate in a huge herd across the frozen desert traveling over 800 miles each year. Caribous live for about 15 years. The caribous are mammals and deer. They are found in the Canadian tundra, forest and mountains. Caribou also live in North American grasslands.
