Crazy Chipmunks
By Sarah
A chipmunk has five stripes on its head. It lives in North America in woods and forests, underground, deserts, and mountains. They hibernate. One thing I know about chipmunks is they are part of the squirrel family.
Chipmunks eat grasshoppers, caterpillars, beetles, and plants. Hawks, coyotes, weasels, bobcats, and raccoons attack chipmunks. When alarmed, it runs away, calls loudly but usually stays quiet. If it does call, it will scold the predator and then will go into a tree.
