Have you ever seen a pelican? Well you can if you go to North and South America. Pelicans have a long pointed beak, a large throat poach, and a large wing span. Pelicans can be seen in Peru, Brazil, Washington, and the Atlantic coast. Mostly it is found in lakes, oceans, rivers, and seashores. Pelicans often eat fish. The main fish they eat are pigfish, pinfish, sheepshead, and silvershead. A pelican’s enemies are actually humans. A pelican’s defenses are either it flutters away or it leaves nesting grounds. Here are interesting facts about the pelican. The pelican can fly sometimes in a “v” form. The pelican can fly from 30 – 100 feet and can lay 2 – 3 eggs.
