Prairie Dogs

Can you guess what my animal is?    It has brown fur. It eats four different types of foods; leaves, roots, weeds, and grasses. It lives in North America on open grassy plains in little burrows. Two of its predators are hawks and coyotes. They also are deep diggers. That is how they make their homes. The way this type of dog warns the other dogs of danger is to slap their tails on the ground. Their tails are 4 centimeters wide and 10 centimeters long. There are two types of these dogs.   No, they are not house dogs, but they are in the dog family. The kind of dog I am talking about is a prairie dog!  So now you know what my amazing animal is!
