Skunks

By Laura

My animal is a skunk. A skunk has black fur and it has a white  stripe through its whole  body. It has bright, blackish eyes,                                                           and it has a small body. Skunks live in North and South America in the swamps. My animal eats beetles, grasshoppers, and grubs.  A Great Horned Owl, a coyote, and a badger attack my animal.  My animal defends itself by its terrible smell, but hisses and growls to start with a warning.  Did you know that skunks use their claws to dig and make a den?  They even sleep in the day and wake up at night time.  These are characteristics of the skunk.
