•         Third Grade SOL scores in English declined slightly, with Math, History, and Science realizing increases in the 2006–2007 school year.

•          English decreased from 85.1%  in 2006  to 83.8% in 2007

•          Math increased from 88% in 2006 to 94.2% in 2007

•          History increased from 93.8% in 2006  to 98.7% in 2007

•          Science increased from 91.4% in 2006 to 94.9% in 2007 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

•         The second year of Fourth Grade SOL testing indicates a marked increase in both areas tested.

•          English increased from 85.3% in 2006 to 92.1% in 2007

•          Math increased from 76.5% in 2006 to 84.8% in 2007

·           Fifth Grade SOL scores realized increases in English Writing with decreases noted in English Reading, Math, Virginia Studies, and Science.

o               English Writing increased from  91.6%% in 2006 to 96.4% in 2007

o               English Reading decreased from 95.1% in 2006 to 89.4% in 2007

o               Math decreased from 95.3% in 2006 to 92.4% in 2007

o               Virginia Studies decreased from 93.8% in 2006 to 91.7% in 2007

o               Science decreased from 95.2% in 2006 to 91.7% in 2007

 

 

 

 

 

  • A comparison of Third Grade English by reporting category from fall of 2005 through spring of 2007 indicate the following:

o        Use Word Analysis Strategies increased from 79% in 2005 – 2006 to 94% in 2006 – 2007.

o        Comprehend Printed Material remain unchanged at 83% from fall of 2005 through spring of 2007.

o        Measurement and Geometry increased from 92% in 2005 – 2006 to 99% in 2006 – 2007.

o        Number and Number Sense decreased from 93% in 2005 – 2006 to 87% in 2006 – 2007.

o        Patterns, Functions and Algebra increased from 93% in 2005 – 2006 to 97% in 2006 – 2007.

o        Probability and Statistics increased from 90% in 2005 – 2006 to 97% in 2006 – 2007.

o        Computation and Estimation increased from 78% in 2005 – 2006 to 80% in 2006 – 2007.

o        Measurement and Geometry increased from 84% in 2005 – 2006 to 85% in 2006 – 2007.

o        Number and Number Sense increased from 85% in 2005 – 2006 to 86% in 2006 – 2007.

o        Patterns, Functions and Algebra increased from 84% in 2005 – 2006 to 86% in 2006 – 2007.

o        Probability and Statistics decreased from 81% in 2005 – 2006 to 79% in 2006 – 2007.

 

 

·        Fifth Grade English Reading and Writing Sub Categories indicate the following trends;

o        Editing for Grammar, (Writing), increased from 94% in 2005 – 2006 to 98% in 2006 – 2007.

o        Number and Number Sense remained at 95% from fall of 2005 through Spring of 2007.

o        Computation and Estimation decreased from 97% in 2005 – 2006 to 95% in 2006 – 2007.

o        Measurement and Geometry remained at 91% from fall of 2005 through Spring of 2007.

o        Probability and Statistics decreased from 100% in 2005 – 2006 to 95% in 2006 – 2007.

o        Patterns, Functions and Algebra decreased from 97% in 2005 – 2006 to 91% in 2006 – 2007.

 

 

 

·        Parental Involvement has steadily increased over the past three years. While falling slightly short of the projected goal in 2006-2007 a positive trend is emerging;

o        In 2004 – 2005 total projected goal was at 550. Actual parental involvement for that year was recorded at 676.

o        In 2005 – 2006 total projected goal was at 660. Actual parental involvement was recorded at 682.

o        In 2006 – 2007 total projected goal was at 792. Actual parental involvement was recorded at 716.

o       During the 2006 – 2007 school year Windsor Oaks has continued a five year trend of decreasing referrals and closing the gap between Black and Caucasian students. A total of 5 Black students and 15 Caucasian students referred in 2006 – 2007 a total gap in discipline of -10 for the 2006 – 2007 school year.
