Windsor Oaks Recycling Program
Information

We recycle cans every Monday morning. This program allows you to donate aluminum cans every Thursday that the school is open. Every student who brings in cans will have a chance to win a raffle prize at the end of each month.

Students earn a raffle ticket for every 25 cans they bring to school. The Recycling Committee will use the information on the Can Count Sheet to fill in the raffle ticket with the student’s name and room number. The tickets are placed in a container until the drawing at the end of the month.

Transportation has allowed bus riders to only bring 25 cans on the bus. A designated drop off area by the kindergarten doors will be available for the bus riders to leave the cans when they get off the bus. Walkers and car riders should use the same drop off area.

Students, parents, and teachers interested in donating may do so. Larger loads may be dropped off at the grassy area outside the cafeteria between 6:00 AM and 8:30 AM. Please make sure your Can Count Sheet is attached or turned in at the greeter’s desk in the foyer.

All recyclers will be recognized with a certificate at the end of the year. The top three recyclers from PK-3 and 4-5 will be recognized on Award’s Day. Students, who recycle 500+ cans by the end of the school year, will have a Pizza Party in June.

PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR CAN COUNT SHEET IS TURNED IN FOR CREDIT. IT WOULD BE HELPFUL IF YOU CAN RINSE, CRUSH, AND PLACE CANS IN A PLASTIC BAG AND TIE SECURELY.
